Nepean Fine Arts League has played a pioneering role in community-based artist organizations in Ottawa. It has continually evolved to meet the community’s needs and partners with other community art organizations, making the region a dynamic place for emerging, established, and recreational visual artists alike.
NFAL’s key differentiator is its emphasis on providing its members access to low risk sales opportunities at two annual weekend sales events:
- the Fall/Winter Show and Sale held in November or early December, just in time for holiday shopping, and
- the Spring Show and Sale held in March or April
Both feature a Friday night vernissage open to members and the public.
Other annual events include the Annual Awards Exhibition event, held in June at the Ben Franklin place, and the Annual General Meeting and Social held in September.
NFAL provides ongoing support to members by way of its website, newsletters, the NFAL Facebook page, and regular email communications to help you stay up-to-date about NFAL and art community happenings.
Members also have the opportunity to present their art at the NFAL Gallery at the Ben Franklin Place.
Membership year is from September 1 to August 31. Be sure to read the section on Acceptable Art under the “About Us” tab.
